The opposing forces deployed diagonally within their zones, Germans closer to the quarter borders, Britons deep into the defensive positions. Britons sent Achilles Platoon, Priest Battery and one Infantry Platoon to the reserve, Germans sent Tigers and AA platoon.

Lires won the roll-off for going first and chose not to do anything.

Germans started with moving one infantry platoon to each side, attempting a pincer move on the British wings. Left (western) wing platoon hid behind a hill, while the right (eastern) wing platoon moved at the double (Blitz + Follow Me orders) to cross a stream dividing two halfs of the battlefield, and hid in the orchard. Nebelwerfers managed to range in on the 25pdr battery, but only pinned it down.

In return, 25 pdrs started to “peel off” German artillery, killing one Nebelwerfer and pinning both 8 cm mortars too.

Both German artillery units failed to unpin, so the infantry moved forward uncovered. The platoon on the left wing failed Blitz so it rushed to the wheat field and shot at the 25 pdr battery, with little effect. It also tried to use cover of smokescreen laid by the 8 cm mortars, protecting it from 6 pdr fire. The platoon on the right wing reached houses on the southern side of the village next to the British positions, but had no clear shot.

In the third British turn, M10 (Achilles) platoon arrived and shot at the left-wing German infantry platoon, inflicting first casualties. 6 pdr guns and 25 pdr battery (direct fire) joined in, rest of the artillery kept pounding German guns (and keeping them pinned).

Having failed to call for reinforcement, Germans pushed forward with infantry only. The western wing platoon, crossed the river and assaulted the 25 pdr battery far in the north in a suicide charge, losing one to defensive fire but managing to reach the target. The eastern wing platoon entered three buildings on both southern and northern side of the village, leaving one too close to the British foxholes unoccupied. The western platoon lost some teams to the defensive fire but killed one of the 25 pdr guns but was unable to catch any further in a sweeping advance.

The stoic British were unimpressed. They called in another platoon of reinforcements (Priest battery) and started preparing an assault on the village. They did not pin the Germans down so decided not to charge yet. They also finished off the brave platoon leader (passed Last Stand twice) of the western platoon.

Tigers managed to enter the field but were able only to kill one infantry team from distance. Infantry in the village shot at the British infantry, managing to fail all 12 5+ shots. Nebelwerfers and Mortars either failed to range in or to do any damage to 25 pdr battery again.

The British infantry, supported by 6 pdrs assaulted the platoon occupying northern part of the village and, losing only two teams defensive fire and managing to push the Germans behind the southern line of buildings. At the western flank, M10s moved out to the side of the German positions and destroyed 1 Nebelwerfer in direct fire. Nebelwerfers failed the Last Stand and fled. Artillery also destroyed one of the PaKs, dug in in the central German position in a forest.

Germans pushed to the counter-attack in the village. Supported by Tigers and newly arrived 7/1 AA Guns, they managed to recapture the southern side of the village, killing some British infantry in process. The remaining platoon in the middle of the battlefield moved back to protect the objective and dug in.

This, however, led to exposure of the Tigers to Achilles fire. In an incredible shot, he scored 3 hits and destroyed two Tigers. Brits also managed to destroy 8 cm Mortar and – for sport – assaulted again at the infantry in the village, this time losing the assault and falling back to the northern side of the village.

At this point, Germans conceded the game.

Pojedynek miał miejsce na warszawskim turnieju 13.10.2019 r. (LW 100p.) Podczas drugiej rundy naprzeciwko siebie stanęły dwie armie brytyjskie. Wylosowanym scenariuszem był Breakthrough, gdzie Piotr się bronił, a Marcin atakował.

The duel took place at the Warsaw tournament on 13.10.2019. (LW 100p.) During the second round two British armies were facing each other. The winning scenario was Breakthrough, where Piotr defended and Marcin attacked.

Co działo się później, łatwo się domyślić. Piotrowe M10 pojawiły się w zasadzce  i w zasadzie zniszczyły M10 Marcina, Do momentu wyjścia rezerw atakującego, piechota, carriery i moździerze odciągały połowę stołu, od zajmowania dogodniejszych pozycji do obrony objectiwów. What happened next is easy to guess. Peter's M10 was ambushed and basically destroyed Martin's M10. Until the attacker's reserves were released, infantry, carriers and mortars pulled half the table away, from taking more convenient positions to defend objects. Eventually, after a few rounds of units originally exhibited by Martin survived only 1 carrier, at that time two platoons of Peter's infantry managed to reach the objectivity, but he did not manage to dig there. Then the reserves entered the action (5th round of attacking).

Pierwszy z rezerw wyszedł pluton Shermanów(76mm), udało im się odepchnąć piechotę. Przeciwnik w swojej turze mógł jedynie próbować odepchnąć shermany od objectiva, jednak atak na czołgi nie powiódł się. 6 tura atakującego włączyła do walki Churchille z rezerw, od tyłu piechotę zajechał również ocalały carrier, objective trzymało jedynie kilka nieokopanych podstawek piechoty. Marcin miał 3 możliwości assaultu (shermany, carrier, churchille), wcześniej jednak udało się wszystkie podstawki piechoty w 4” od objectivu zniszczyć zmasowanym ostrzałem. Zwycięstwo 6:3 dla Marcina.

The first of the reserves was the Sherman's platoon (76mm), they managed to push the infantry away. The opponent in his turn could only try to push the Shermans away from the objectiva, but the attack on the tanks failed. 6th turn of attacker included Churchille in the fight from reserves, from the back the infantry arrived also the surviving carrier, objective was holding only a few unencumbered infantry bases. Marcin had 3 possibilities of assault (shermans, carrier, churchille), but earlier he managed to destroy all 4" infantry bases from objectivu with massive fire. Victory 6:3 for Marcin.

Pancer kontra twhistoria

No i Rafał się uaktywnił. po niemal rocznej przerwie w aktywności turniejowej wołanej pracą podwinął rękawy i ruszył w bój. Pojawił się na Jesiennym Turnieju Flames of War gdzie zajął 6 miejsce. Gry rozgrywane na tym turnieju zostały jednocześnie zaliczone do Warszawskiej Ligi FOW.

W jednym z pojedynków starły się nasze armie - Brytyjczycy Rafała i moi Rosjanie. W tej sytuacji format i rodzaj gry jest oczywisty - Flames of War Late War 100 pkt.

And then Rafał became active. After an almost one-year break in the tournament activity caused by  his work, he rolled up his sleeves and went into battle. He appeared at the Flames of War Autumn Tournament where he took 6th place. Games played in this tournament were simultaneously included in the Warsaw FOW League.

In one of the duels our armies - the British Rafał and my Russians - fought each other. In this situation the format and type of the game is obvious - Flames of War Late War 100 points.

Zagraliśmy misję Encounter. U mnie do rezerw poszły KW, Valentynki, BA-10 i pluton T-34, a u Pancera M-10c, pluton Shermanów i HQ.

Gra była zażarta, trup słał się gęsto. Ostatecznie Pancer złamał moja formację siedemnastofuntówki wygrały pojedynek ogniowy z moimi osiemdziesiątkami piatkami. :-(

We played the Encounter mission. In my case KW, Valentine's Day, BA-10 and T-34 platoon went to the reserves, and in Pancer's case M-10c, Sherman's and HQ platoon went to the reserves.

The game was fierce, the corpse was dense. Finally, Pancer broke my formation of seventeen pounds and won a fire duel with my eighty-fives. :-(

The result was 7:2 for Pancer.

No to sobie z Michałem zagraliśmy. Tym razem nie był dla mnie tak gościnny jak poprzednim razem, ale po kolei.
So we played witch Michal. This time he wasn't as hospitable to me as last time, but first things first.

Rozegraliśmy scenariusz Counterattack z Michałem jako broniącym. Maichał wysłał do natychmiastowych rezerw 2 plutony StuG i HQ z formacji StuG a zasadzce umieści pluton PAK-40. 

We played Counterattack scenario with Michał as a defender. Maichal sent to immediate reserves 2 StuG and HQ platoons from StuG formation and PAK-40 platoon to an ambush. 

Mój plan był prosty, odciąć Niemców od rezerw. W tym celu korzystając z zasady spearhead w ćwiartce stołu skąd miały wyjść rezerwy umieściłem pluton BA-10, duży pluton T-34 i pluton Su-85. Powyższe zdjęcie zobrazowuje sytuację po mojej pierwszej turze. Teraz wystarczyło czekać. Tymczasem pozostałe siły wiązały pozostałem siły Michała na jego strefie rozstawienia. Moja piechota zajęła lasek w którym mógłbyć wyprowadzony ambush. W pierwszej turze udało mi sie przywołać samolot, który zniszczył jednego acht-achta i jednego StuGa kosztem jednego samolotu. Gra zaczynał się dobrze. Moja artyleria nie wstrzelała się.

My plan was simple, to cut the Germans off from the reserves. For this purpose, using the spearhead rule in the quarter of the table where the reserves were to come from, I placed the BA-10 platoon, the big T-34 platoon and the Su-85 platoon. The above picture shows the situation after my first round. Now it was enough to wait. Meanwhile, the remaining forces bound the remaining forces of Michał on his deployment zone. My infantry occupied a forest in which ambush could be led out. In the first round I managed to summon an airplane, which destroyed one acht-acht and one StuG at the expense of one airplane. The game started well. My artillery didn't range-in.

W odpowiedzi Niemcy wykonali nawałę z NW41 na lasek i spinowali mi pechotę, zabijając dwie podtsawki. Rezerwy Niemców nie weszły.  StuGi zabiły mi dwa BA-10.

In response, the Germans made a bombardment from NW41 on a forest and pinned down my infantry platoon, killing two teams. The Germans' reserves did not enter.  StuGs killed me two BA-10s.

W drugiej turze przywołałem samolot, jego atak zakończył się spinowaniem wszystkiego co mogłem. T-34 zabiły na dalekim zasięgu 2 StuGa, a trzeci uciekł. Ostrzelałem z T-34 acht-achta stojącego na wzgórzu - bez skutku. W odpowiedzi straciłem jednego T-34/76 i kolejne dwie podstawki piechoty - w tym komisarza. Moja artyleria się nie wstrzelała.

In the second round I called the plane, its attack ended with pinning down everything I could. T-34 killed 2 StuGs on a long range, and the third one escaped. I shot from T-34 acht-acht standing on a hill - without success. In response I lost one T-34/76 and another two infantry bases - including the Commissair. My artillery did not range-in again.

W trzeciej turze Michał stracił od samolotu kolejnego acht-achta a ja pluton piechoty. BA-10 nie zdał testu last stand i uciekł. Moja artyleria się nie wsztrzelała. Z rezerw wyszły dwa plutony StuGów, bailując mi dwa T-34/85. 

In the third round Michał lost another acht-acht from the plane and I lost an infantry platoon. BA-10 failed the last stand test and escaped. My artillery didn't range-in (!). Two StuG platoons came out of the reserves, bailing me out two T-34/85. 

W czwartej turze rzucając 7 kości z Su-85, 4 kości z T-34/85 i 4 kości T-34/76 - zabiłem jednego StuGa, drugiego zbailowałem z jednego plutonu i 1 StuG z drugiego. Samolot nie przyleciał a artyleria się w końcu wstrzelała pinując piechotę, NW41 i pluton plot. Przemieściłem dwa plutony T-34 do objectiva w wolnej ćwiartce, który był broniony przez jeden pluton grenadierów. Tymczasem z rezerw wyszedł StuG z HQ i Michał zabił mi dwa T-34/85 i dwie haubice 122mm. Starciłem też T-34/85 z HQ, który utknął na lejach na 2+, :-( i został na otwartej przestrzeni.

In the fourth round, throwing 7 dice from Su-85, 4 dice from T-34/85 and 4 dice from T-34/76 - I killed one StuG, the other one from the first platoon and 1 StuG from the second one. The plane didn't come and the artillery finally ranged-in, pinning the infantry, NW41 and AA platoons. I moved two T-34 platoons to the objectiv in a free quarter, which was defended by one grenadier platoon. Meanwhile, StuG from HQ came out of the reserve and Michał killed two T-34/85 and two 122mm howitzers. I also lost T-34/85 from formation HQ, which got stuck in the craters on the 2+, :-( and stayed in the open.

W piętej turze ja zabiłem z Su-85 jednego StuG z plutonu który posiadał 2 sprawne a T-34/76 jednego zbailowanego. Samolot zabił trzeciego acht-achta. Pluton T-34 poszedł do szturmu na grenadierów pinując ich najpierw z km-ów. Sturm wygrałem wypychając ich z objectiva. 

In the fifth round I killed with Su-85 one StuG from the platoon which had 2 operational vehicles and T-34/76 one bailed-out StuG. The plane killed the third acht-acht. The T-34 platoon went to the assault on grenadiers, first pinging them from MGs. I won the assault by pushing them out of the objective. 

Michał miał do zdania last stand na plutonie plot i dwóch plutonach StuG - zdał i wyprowadził zasadzkę. Pluton grenadierów odepchnięty w szturmie odpinował się na 5+ i ruszył do szturmu. PAK-40 na dalekim zasięgu zabił mi jednego T-34, panzerfaust zbailował drugiego. Grenadierzy pojmali go w szturmie, a trzeci uciekł. StuGi zabiły mi T-34/76.

Michał had to pass the last stand on the AA platoon and two StuG platoons - he passed and led the ambush. The grenadier platoon, pushed back in the assault, relayed itself at 5+ and moved on to the charge. The PAK-40 killed one T-34 on a long range, the panzerfaust bailed-out the other one. The Grenadiers captured him in an assault, and the third one escaped. The StuGs killed my T-34/76.

W szóstej turze rzuciłem do szturmu na objective kolejny pluton T-34, który wypchnął z objectiva grenadierów. I to był konec sukcesów. Grenadierzy znowu się odpinowali na 5+ i poszli do szturmu. StuGi, które po raz kolejny zdały last stand otworzyły ogień do dwóch T-34/85 na objectivie - 6 kości trafienie na 5+ - weszło 5 kości i było po grze. Moja formacja została złamana - wynik 8:1, Michał miał na stole 3 plutony w stanie Bad Spiryt, zabiłem jeden pluton StuG, a z mojej formacji przeżył samotny T-34/76. Su-85 pozostały nietknięte, zabijając chyba jednego StuGa z 23 kości na 5+. Kicha. :-(

In the sixth round I threw another T-34 platoon, which pushed the grenadiers out of the objectiva, into the assault on the objective. And that was the end of my successes. The grenadiers again relayed themselves at 5+ and went to the assault. StuGs, which once again passed the last stand opened fire on two T-34/85 on the objective - 6 dice hit on 5+ (5 dice successfully) and the game was over. My formation was broken - score 8:1, Michał had 3 platoons on the table in Bad Spiryt, I killed one StuG platoon, and from my formation survived a lonely T-34/76. Su-85 remained untouched, killing probably one StuG from 23 dice on 5+. Bad luck.

Isengrim vs. twhistoria

We wtorek, 17.09.2019 r. doszło do kolejnego starcia w ramach naszej Ligi. Tym razem do boju stanęli prowadzeni przez Isengrima Niemcy przeciwko prowadzonym przeze mnie Rosjanom. Naszą bitwę rozegraliśmy w sklepie Graal w warszawskim Blue City, który jak zwykle wykazał się gościnnością.

On Tuesday, 17.09.2019 there was another clash within our League. This time the Germans led by Isengrim against the Russians led by me stood up to the battle. Our battle took place in the Graal shop in Warsaw's Blue City, which as usual showed hospitality.

Isengrim wyprowadził w pole rozpiskę typowo piechotną, której trzon stanowiły trzy plutony grenadierów wsparte między innymi plutonem 3 Tygrysów, a ja rozpiskę typowo pancerną opartą na trzech plutonach T-34 wspartą przez pluton Su-85.

Isengrim led a typically infantry forces into the field, the core of which were three grenadier platoons supported by, among others, the 3 Tiger platoon, and me a typically armoured platoon based on three T-34 platoons supported by the Su-85 platoon.

Opierając się na battleplanach, wylosowaliśmy scenariusz Rearguard, chyba dla mnie w tej sytuacji najgorszy możliwy, Krzysiek rozpoczynał z wszystkim na stole i miał zasadzkę, co dla moich T-34, przy ich miękkim pancerzu, nie było dobrą wiadomością.

Based on the battle plans, we drew the scenario of Rearguard, probably the worst possible one for me in this situation, Krzysiek started with everything on the table and had an ambush, which for my T-34s, with their soft armour, was not good news.

Krzysiek wystawił swoje siły w sposób następujący: na prawym skrzydle - Tygrysy, pluton plot, pluton moździerzy i pluton grenadierów; na prawym skrzydle i w centrum - dwa plutony grenadierów, pluton NW41; pluton PAK40 mógł być wystawiony wszędzie. Uznałem to za błąd i skupiłem całość swoich sił na prawym skrzydle, licząc na to, że rzeka biegnąca prostopadle do linii frontu będzie utrudniała Krzyśkowi manewrowanie. Na jej brzegu, ustawiłem pluton 4 weterańskich Su-85, licząc na to że będą one przeciwwagę dla trzech Tygrysów. Przeciwko Tygrysom mogłem użyć także Shturmowików.

Krzysiek set his forces in the following way: on the right wing - Tigers, Pluto Platoon, Mortar Platoon and Grenadier Platoon; on the right wing and in the centre - two Grenadier Platoons, NW41 Platoon; PAK40 Platoon could be deployed anywhere. I thought it was a mistake and focused all my strength on the right wing, hoping that the river flowing perpendicularly to the front line would make it difficult for Krzysiek to manoeuvre. On its bank, I placed a platoon of 4 veteran Su-85s, hoping that they would be a counterbalance to the three Tigers. I could also use the Shturmoviks against the Tigers.



Natarcie ruszyło. Su-85 wykonały Blitz ale dwa utknęły w lesie. W normalnym ruchu podciągnąłem je do skraju lasu. Cztery strzały do Tygrysów na 6 - same pudła, moja artyleria wstrzelała się w pozycje NW41, jednego zabijając. W odpowiedzi, 5 strzałów z Tygrysów na 6, 2 Su-85 zniszczone - i skończyła się przeciwwaga dla Tygrysów. :-(

The attack started. Su-85 were made by Blitz but two were stuck in the forest. In a normal movement I pulled them up to the edge of the forest. Four shots at Tigers out of 6 - just failes, my artillery shot at NW41 positions, killing one of them. In response, 5 shots from the Tigers at 6, 2 Su-85 destroyed - and the counterbalance to the Tigers ended. :-(

Na prawym skrzydle tymczasem poszedłem na hurra. Mając zdecydowaną przewagę mogłem liczyć na sukces, a tymczasem PAK-40 wyeliminowały mi jeden pluton T-34.

On the right wing, meanwhile, I went on a hurrah. Having a decisive advantage I could count on success, while the PAK-40 eliminated one T-34 platoon.

W następnej turze zniszczyłem jednego PAK-40, ale zapomniałem zrobić Shot&Scoot na drugim plutonie. PAKi wraz grenadierami wyeliminowały mi drugi pluton T-34.  Do końca gry nie udało mi się ich już zredukować. |Doszło do starcia mojej piechoty z grenadierami - skutek: grenadierzy wyparowali.

In the next round I destroyed one PAK-40, but forgot to do Shot&Scoot on the second platoon. PAKi and the grenadiers eliminated my second T-34 platoon. I couldn't reduce them by the end of the game. |My infantry clashed with the grenadiers - the result: the grenadiers evaporated.

W środku jednak, Tygrysy rozwaliły mi na dalekim zasięgu pozostałe Su-85 a grenadierzy, którzy ruszyli do kontrataku systematycznie dobijali mi ostatnie niedobitki kolejnych T-34.

In the middle, however, the Tigers destroyed the remaining Su-85 on a long distance and the grenadiers, who set off to counterattack, were systematically killing my last survivors of the next T-34s.

Tygrysy na dalekim zasięgu wyeliminowały mi dowódcę kompanii, do a testu last Stand nie zdał samotny, ostatni T-34. Z formacji pozostał mi jedynie pluton piechoty (2 podstawki) i gra była przegrana. Samolot wleciał dwa razy, nie robiąc zupełnie nic. Raz się nie wstrzelił, raz miał same pudła (przeciwko Tygrysom). :-(

The long-range tigers eliminated my company commander, and the last Stand did not pass the test alone, the last T-34. All I had left of the formation was the infantry platoon (2 stands) and the game was lost. The plane flew in twice, doing nothing at all. Once he didn't shoot himself, once he had only boxes (against Tigers). :-(

No tak się sprawa ma cała. ;-)

Well, that's the whole thing. ;-)
